It is important to give children an idea of our history as a culture. Many kids don’t think of what happened before they arrived on the scene unless you give them a bit of guidance. Laura Ingalls Wilder did a great job of bringing her life to young readers. This is the tale of the author who penned the Little House series.

Little House fans will enjoy learning more about the author of the series. Not everything in the Little House books matches up with the real life of Laura Ingalls Wilder, and some readers might enjoy getting this slightly different view of the author’s real life experiences.

Milton Hershey Biography

Milton Hershey’s life in his younger years is explored in this biography aimed at children ages 9-12. He did not become an instant success in the chocolate business. Like so many noteworthy individuals, he had his own trials to overcome which started early on when he was forced to quit school to help his family. He later showed his grit by continuing to pursue his dreams even after enduring two failed business attempts. Rather than walk away with his tail between his legs, he decided to keep on trying. Milton Hershey’s biography serves as a fine model of perseverance mixed with a strong work ethic.
