Milton Hershey’s life in his younger years is explored in this biography aimed at children ages 9-12. He did not become an instant success in the chocolate business. Like so many noteworthy individuals, he had his own trials to overcome which started early on when he was forced to quit school to help his family. He later showed his grit by continuing to pursue his dreams even after enduring two failed business attempts. Rather than walk away with his tail between his legs, he decided to keep on trying. Milton Hershey’s biography serves as a fine model of perseverance mixed with a strong work ethic.
After a difficult start, Helen Keller grew up to be an inspiration to all people, not just those with similar challenges in their lives.
Many people mistakenly think that Helen was born blind and deaf, but she actually lost the ability to see and hear after contracting a diesease when she was less than two years of age. There is speculation that she may have had meningitis or even scarlet fever, but it is not known for certain what she contracted.

Gehrig was known as The Iron Horse because he was so durable during his playing days. He set several major league records during his time, and although he passed away in 1941, he still holds some of them. His consecutive games streak stood until 1995 when it was finally broken by the Baltimore Orioles’ Cal Ripkin, Jr.
Now retired, Michael Jordan is still arguably the best basketball player to have ever stepped onto the hardwood. During his career he inspired millions of children on playgrounds and in gymnasiums to push themselves to become more “like Mike”.
Jordan played on the 1982 North Carolina Tar Heels team that went on the win the National Championship. His ability to seemingly score at will earned him great praise during his amazing career with the Chicago Bulls.
